Welcome
Welcome to the ICP tennis community. We have a great tennis facility with 6 Har-tru tennis courts for Residents and their guests to enjoy daily from 6:30AM to 10:00PM. All our courts have floodlights for evening use.
Whether you are brand new to tennis, a beginner or an established player with a rating we have programs to get you engaged and out on the courts playing.
Getting started and booking a court…
As a new resident you will be sent an email with a temporary password to use our court reservation system (Court Reserve). This is available from our website or as a mobile app available for both Apple and Android.
Social Play...
The court reservation system will allow you to book courts for social play, each reservation is for a 1.5-hour slot. You will find plenty of social tennis play going on in the mornings and feel free to talk to the players to see how to get involved.

USTA and CTA team play...
If you want to get involved with some of our teams, we have ladies & mens doubles teams playing at the 3.0 and 3.5 level. You can contact the team captains directly or drop the tennis committee an email at islesclubtennis@gmail.com

USPTA Elite Tennis Pro, Mark Alan Krebs, is now offering lessons and clinics at the ICP courts as our new Tennis Pro! As a tennis professional, for more than 30 years, Mark's achievements are vast. Here are just a few:
• Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference – Ferris State University – Singles and Doubles Champion – 1983
• Pound Ridge Club Doubles Champion -1989
• Kapalua Open Doubles Semi-Final Men’s Open Division - 2001
• Kapalua Men’s Singles Champion – Men’s 35’s - 2001
Known for his doubles system implemented at all Ivan Lendl's tennis centers and playing competitive tennis, Mark reached a #1 status in the men's thirty fives in the Hawaiian Pacific Division in 2001. Mark brings new opportunities for ICP to enjoy the game of tennis with group clinics and private lessons. Mark focuses on the “modern game” as detailed in his upcoming book, “Zero Point Tennis ™”.

Just starting tennis and new to the game.
Essentially, someone stepping on the court for their first lesson.
1.5
Have only minimal knowledge of the game and the rules.
Limited experience on the court.
This player is working on basic stroke production.
Working primarily on keeping the ball in play, but not ready to compete.
2.0
Shows knowledge of all the different strokes, but lacks court experience.
Familiar with basic court positions for singles and doubles.
2.5
Learning to judge where the ball is going although court coverage is weak.
Sustain a short rally but unable to cover the court efficiently.
Beginner status, which is the lowest rating level for USTA which offers League play.
3.0
Consistent when hitting medium paced shots, but not comfortable with all strokes.
Fairly consistent when hitting medium-paced shots.
Shots lack directional control, depth, pace, or altering distance of shots.
3.5
Achieved dependable stroke production with directional control on moderate paced shots.
Still lack depth and variety.
Improved court coverage and direction of shot.
Player is starting to show team work in doubles.
Ranking is considered intermediate level.
4.0
Dependable strokes including directional and depth control on both the forehand and backhand sides.
Player can use ground strokes, volleys, lobs, overheads, and approach shots with success.
Player occasionally forces errors.
Rallies are often lost due to impatience.
Player shows strong teamwork in doubles.
High Intermediate level.
Bell curve in USTA league tennis.
4.5
Player has begun to master the use of varying spin and power shots while maintaining pace of the game.
Can handle considerable pace and shows sound footwork. Player can vary their game plan according to opponents.
Can vary their serve and have placement of their second serve.
Player tends to over hit on difficult shots.
Sound doubles team work, often shows aggressive net play.
Beginning of advanced ratings.
5.0
Player shows shot anticipation and often has an outstanding shot or attribute around which their game may be structured.
Can regularly force errors and hit winners from short balls.
Player can spin and place second serves, in addition to power and placement.
Consistently hit different strokes with depth and control.
5.5
Player has developed power and consistency as a major weapon.
Vary strategies and styles of play in competitive situations and hits dependable shots when under pressure or stress.

Sectional or national ratings.

National programs or Pro tour.
Experience has extensive satellite tournament play and good potential of become a 7.0.

Player plays professionally at tournament and makes a living from tournament prize money.
